About Jess
The Queer and Trans Birth Project was created by Jess (they/she) - midwife, childbirth educator and queer co-parent of a couple of lovely kids.
I am committed to trauma-informed, accessible public healthcare and to promoting perinatal care that is holistic and culturally competent. I currently work clinically and as a research midwife.

Queer and Trans Birth classes
In these classes you will have the opportunity to connect and build community with other LGBTQIA+ families.
Classes are tailored to your needs but can include:
The opportunity to debrief the conception process in a safe space
An overview of the system and how to navigate it
Informed decision making
The mechanics and dynamics of birth – physiology, psychology and the hormonal interplay
Pain coping and pain relief options
Options for chest and breastfeedin
Life with a newborn
Tips on surviving the early months with your identity and relationship/s intact
These classes are run in-person in Brunswick.
